The only winning move is not to play
You may recognise that quote from the 1983 “War Games” fiction film. Also if you know me for a while, you’ll now I have had the idea of writing a blog on my mind for a lot of years, but somehow never did it. I always internaly argumented it by a lack of time, but recently i realized there were some fears involved i wasn’t fully conscious
- Fear of saying something that is not true/right/appropiate by mistake.
- The feeling that anyone else could do it better, so no point of doing it.
- Everything is invented right? What i could possibly add?
- Fear of being completely ignored or unnoticed.
I somehow wrap those fears and feelings to a “fear to lose”, or in other words “fear not to win” if you want. Going back to the quote, as i’m not doing this to win anything, i cannot lose, so let’s play!
Saying this doesn’t mean i overcomed those feelings, but i as really want to do it, i’ve set some goals for the blog, that motivates me to write without worring anymore for those things. So after some thinking, these are the goals i’ve set:
Personal improvement
- As a means of improving my writing skills, along with my English (hence the decision of writing it in English)
- As a means of reducing my procastination on personal projects. The idea is that i have a place to write about the things i do in pet projects and similar, i’ll have an extra motivation to finish them properly.
- There are a lot of aspects in writing that are proven to improve certain other aspects 1. Anyhing in that context is welcome.
### Sharing
- Recently some people pointed me out that some of the things i’m doing lately on home automation and (humble) electronics, may be of interest to other people, so I plan to structure a little bit what i did (and will do) and share it here. This way i can give out some of the priceless knowledge I collected to do those projects in the first place.
This is the plan, i’m happy to start with this, i won’t put pressure on me in terms of how regulary i will post: for now i’m happy if i can keep it during the first year.
See you around!
Some articles I read where they list some of the benefits of writing from different perspectives:,http://jordanrosenfeld.net/10-reasons-why-writing-is-good-for-you/ * https://www.marquette.edu/wac/WhatMakesWritingSoImportant.shtml
